Hi! I’m Boni
A spiritualist, humanitarian & blogger
I am not the face of Islam, perhaps the farthest thing from it. Green eyes, fair skin and mostly blonde depending on my life mood at the moment ;-) However, I am 100% born into an Islamic home where my paternal grandfather was an Iman in his village in Kosovo and my paternal grandmother would bow and rise on a 2.5ft x 4ft Moroccan prayer rug several times a day growing up in the suburbs of New York City. I grew up in a religiously strict home with great personal spiritual awareness that this was not god but man's perception and interpretation of god.

I know Islam is beautiful, I know Catholicism is beautiful, I know Judaism is beautiful and I most certainly know Buddha is beautiful and all the religions of the world, but man's projection of them are not always as they are entangled so deeply in the moment of the self, in the battle of the ego. The beauty and love that is our soul is buried at different depths in our human life and revealed in a multitude of ways. We are all trying to be loved but struggling with unlove that takes over our hearts from time to time.

I hope this blog allows you to share with me my journey through this world as born American-Albanian Muslim girl with a written script that broke free of my chains and honored the journey of my soul guiding my light to openness, steadfast in kindness and always embracing the permeation of love outward and inward. I behold the natural Buddha in me using only my morality, it is intrinsic to be good and noble. It is easy to forget and get lost. Here's to finding our way back.
